INTRODUCTION

The footswitch can signiﬁcantly improve the speed at which data collection takes place by allowing the operator to focus on the task without needing to click

a mouse button or press a key on the keyboard. The actual use of the footswitch is application dependent, and is documented in the manual that accompanied

your Crystal Engineering software package. For example, in FastCalXP, the foot switch acts as a Next Data Point function, allowing the operator to keep his

hands on the comparator during data collection.
